What Are Lab Grown Diamonds?
Lab-Grown Diamond (also known as man-made diamonds, synthetic diamonds) refers to diamonds that are cultivated in laboratories using state-of-the-art technology. Some people may regard cultivated cultivation as a diamond imitation, which is wrong, because cultivated diamonds have the same physical atomic structure as natural diamonds, and under the diamond 4C grading standards, the quality can be comparable to or even surpass natural diamonds, and they are certified as "real diamonds" by international gemological authorities.
How to called Lab grown diamond? can use synthetic?
Laboratory-grown diamonds are formed by a "natural growth process" in which carbon atoms grow on carbon atoms in a single lattice. Every lab-grown diamond starts with a diamond seed and "grows naturally" under properly controlled conditions. Diamonds above ground and underground have the same carbon structure.
When used in jewelry, "synthetic" almost always means "artificial" or "fake" that laboratory-grown diamonds do not have. The bottom line is that lab-grown diamonds exhibit the same extraordinary beauty and brilliance as mined diamonds because they have the same composition as mined diamonds — yes, exactly the same. Not similar. Not a simulation. Not fake.
More recently, even the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) revised its jewelry guidelines and omitted the word "synthetic" as a prescribed qualifier for laboratory-grown diamonds. The FTC noted that it no longer uses the term "natural" to define "diamonds" because "it is now possible to define diamonds as 'natural' diamonds when it is now possible to produce products that have essentially the same optical, physical and chemical properties as mined diamonds."
