Synthetic HPHT Man Made Diamonds Description
Synthetic diamond is a kind of imitation of natural mineral, which is no inferior to the original stone. Is the diamond made in the laboratory real? Of course, they are! Man made diamonds have no defects and are cleaner and harder than natural diamonds.
Synthetic diamonds are produced in the laboratory in several ways. Manufacturing them requires expensive equipment and high-quality raw materials.
Several technologies are being used to produce laboratory grown diamonds.
The first method is called HPHT or thermogravimetry (temperature and pressure). The pressure diamonds produced in this way are relatively cheap because of the low cost. The bottom line is to heat (1500 degrees) carbon at high pressure (50000 – 70000 environments) with the help of catalyst metals.
CVD is a chemical vapor deposition method. CVD diamond grown by this method is used in optical and electronic fields. Hydrocarbon gas (methane) is deposited on silicon wafer by heating (3100 degrees) or microwave radiation. The film thickness is 2-3 mm.
Explosive fusion. Graphite produces an artificial replica under the high pressure of an explosive explosion.
Ultrasonic cavitation. Under normal conditions, graphite suspension was added into organic solvent, and artificial minerals were grown under ultrasonic cavitation.
